a touch of spring.

Spring is here - I believe! The sun is shining, the streets are almost free from snow, I've cleared away all my winter 

clothes and shoes; AND the janitor has swept away the shingle in the streets of the neighborhood! After sun and 

warmer weather - I believe that's my favorite sign! It makes it a whole lot easier to wear high heeled shoes again! 

I wear high heels all year around, but the shingle is not kind with my beloved high heeled shoes.. My JC Lita's has

suffered through snow, ice, sludge and shingle this winter and are clearly marked after this treatment.. But dad 

knows his stuff - and was able to fix them up - and now they look all new again! I took them for a walk in the city 

today - and it felt great. I wore a thick scarf and a poncho with a sweater underneath and I didn't freeze at all. 

That must be a sure sign of spring, right? Anyway, here's some randomly selected photos from the apartment.

In the two last photos you can get a glimpse of our new bed - and the amazing headboard Mr. H made for me! I 

wrote about the renewal of our bedroom in a previous blogpost. I'll post some photos of it later - I absolutely love it!

Paisley enjoys the sun just as much as I do - if possible - probably even more. He spends most of his day on 

the couch sunbathing. He's simply the most adorable dog.

The tiny, knitted sweater in one of the photos, was my first knitting project that wasn't socks, a hat or a scarf. So

 a bit challenging, but mostly fun. I basically used the Skappel recepie (Norwegians will know) and tried to 

scale it, so it would fit a little baby. It was supposed to be a gift to Mr. H's nephew, but it didn't turn out just as 

I wanted, so I'll do another try - and hopefully it will turn out a little better.

The beautiful - and very colorful - flowers was from Mr. H's grandfather - I think they look so cute! The gorgeous, 

pink roses are from Mr. H's mother. They look so great on the dining table - and they still look fresh! Despite the 

fact that I haven't changed the water or re-cutted them since I got them over a week ago! Mr. H is the one with 

green fingers around here. I just enjoy them, while he takes care of them. Fits me perfectly! ;)

cakeboss.

My little sister turned 14 years new years eve. We celebrated her day just a couple of weeks ago and I decided 

to bake her a really cool cake. I've never made anything but chocolate cakes and brownies with powdered 

sugar on top, so this was quite challenging. Underneath the sugarpaste it was to layers of chocolate cake. It was 

YUMMY and extremely filling. There was no way one could find room to have two slices. Anywho, my sister 

loved it and I was very happy with the result. Next project is just around the corner. I'm making one for my aunt's 

50th birthday. I'll post some photos of it as soon as it's done. I'm excited, it was so much fun making the last cake.

It's perfectly okay to spoil oneself with a cake or a little sweet treat in the middle of the week! That's at 

least what I'm telling myself now, I get cravings just from looking at the photos.. Mmm.

things should start to get interesting right about now.

I have a terrible headache I wish would disappear, but it seems like it won't be leaving anytime soon. I 

just turned to hot tea with honey and good music - and I hope this will perform miracles. I have great faith 

in tea and good music as medicine, I believe it have the ability to cure anything! Today, good music means 

Bob Dylan's music. While listening to his amazing lyrics - I'm trying to finish a sewing project I started this 

morning. Can't say anything more about that right now - since it's going to be a gift for my amazing aunt 

who just turned 50! Can't wait to celebrate her this saturday. Even though I don't think my aunt reads my blog 

I want to be on the safe side, and won't post any photos of my project until sunday, at the very least.

apartment details.

I love my apartment. Here are some close up photos of some of the nice details in our lovely apartment.
I have some great plans for the guest room/office, and I can't wait to start. Mr. H (my bf.) promised me
he'd hammer together a desk for me. I want to make the office corner in the guest room a little more fresh.
I promise to share some before and after photos when I'm done with the project. We are also waiting for
a new bed. We ordered it nearly three weeks ago, and we're expecting it's arrival this week. I'm super
excited! Mr. H surprised me with the most beautiful headboard for our new bed just before Christmas.
He made it himself when I was away for a weekend, and it made me so happy, as I've been wanting a
headboard for the new bed! I'll post some photos as soon as the bed arrives. I can't wait - life's smiling!
