apricot stone.

Well, as a matter of fact it is peach, but the Eurovision song - apricot stone - reminds me of my great friend, Synnøve, so I though it would be a good title. I'm having the time of my life. Alone in the cabin, a blanket and the macbook on my lap, the sun is disappearing behind the mountain top and I'm having peaches and whipped cream. My life is complete.

Tomorrow I have my day of, so I will be spending the day reading film history, analyzing The Wizard of Oz (which I saw for the first time today in class) and take a walk around Lillehammer centrum.

leavin' oslo, never easy.

Left for Lillehammer this morning. Woke up to such a lovely, sunny day. Haven't seen the sun shine through my bedroom window in a long time! Perfect.

The car trip was great as well. Just me, music, sun and beautiful nature for a bit longer than 2 hours.

(Yes, I know the picture isn't in focus, but there is something wrong with my beloved objective!)

I just arrived at the cabin I'll be staying at till I find an apartment for me to live. I was supposed to share with two other girls, but none of them has showed up yet. I'm sitting in the living room, studying while listening to some great music recommended by a friend of mine.

The "hems" - as we say in norwegian - is definitely mine. In english I believe it is called a balcony room, but if that doesn't make any sense in your head it is an open loft over a bigger room. I've had a thing for these places since I was a little girl.

It's extremely quiet here, and I've had a huge fight with the TV - and it doesn't seem like it want's anything to do with me. I think we have to start over again. Hopefully we'll get along very soon (!).

I can't recall wether I shared the sad news about my semester in NYC or not, but incase I forgot I'll give you a short brief. I was as you might know supposed to study journalism and photography in NYC this autumn. But when I was in Vegas this summer I received a bunch of calls from the agency I was supposed to study with telling me how sorry they were to share the news about my semester being cancelled. I got really upset, but they assured me I could leave for the spring semester instead. Just a few weeks ago I was told I might not be able to leave for spring semester either. That's why I started studying at Lillehammer University College.

Still it hurts a bit that I can't go to NYC. It was my dream and I was really ready to travel and experience something new. To be honest I have absolutely no problem choosing between Lillehammer and NYC. So just to rub it in my face this is what met me the second I walked into the kitchen in the cabin I'm staying. FML? Hehehe!

Okey. I have a few things to do such as find out what to eat for dinner, try to make up with the TV, I'd really like to watch the news and some other stuff before I go to bed and I have to unpack.

oslo fashion week.

It's been Oslo Fashion Week and I had so much fun following some of the viewings and photographing. I was connected to one of the OFW photographers trough many years via a friend of mine - and I was lucky enough to learn from him and assist him at some viewings.

Oslo Fashion Week always inspire me to turn my closet upside down and find items I haven't been wearing  in a long time. I was very happy to find a top I bought about 4 years ago - and that it still fits perfectly!

This has been a lovely sunday that I've spent drinking cocoa with cream for breakfast, reading the news paper, magazines and some film history for school over a cup of tea. It helped my aching head and cold feets this rainy sunday.

Right now I'm packing for school tomorrow. It's a two hours drive to school so I will be in desperate need of sleep and rest - especially since I start school at 10.

My absence is due to my studies, work and a whole lot of other things happening in my life right now.

I started studying at Lillehammer - since Gateway College can't say for sure that the students will be able to go to NY after all. Makes me frustrated because I've looked forward to it like nothing else. Anyways, I'm having a great time at Lillehammer studying film and television science.

I've been working a bit lately as well. Been working day time next to my studies for a little while and since I love my job, it hasn't been any problem.

Other fun stuff in my life: went to this great photo expedition with a colleague of mine, Christoffer. He also invited me to a "move out" party this friday which was also a lot of fun. Went to a lovely confirmation yesterday before I went to see one of my favorite bands play in Oslo. Despite the extremely rainy weather it was an amazing concert and the audience seemed to love it. Afterwards, I went out with my father, his friend and colleague and their apprentice. What a perfect and BUSY week.

I've nearly been home this week, and the next week doesn't look less busy, but I'll take some time off to blog. I promise.

Our beloved Katinka left for college in USA this morning. It's hard to let go of a friend you've seen more or less every single day for three years. Saying goodbye yesterday was so hard for all of us. I know for a fact she will visit us back home around christmas, still it feels terrible knowing I can't meet her for a coffee any day. She is such a tough, brave girl, leaving everything she loves behind for a new country. But I'm not sad. I'm happy for her. I know she will have a great time, I know she will experience a whole lot and still carry her friends in her heart. I miss you already, Katinka.

Monday, when these pictures were taken, was such a beautiful day, but the last couple of days has been gray, with unbearable amounts of rain.

I'm having the time of my life right now. Laying on the sofa, sipping on a smoothie, reading the newspapers while listening to my favorite music. Despite the cloudy weather I have a good feeling this day might get sunny. I'll keep you posted!
